Escondido is home to a brand new tasting room and winery, Sans V ! Winery Representative (or, “do you like Wine Pimp better?” she asks) Tami Wong shows Campestre the ropes.

“You know the old saying, ‘Hang out somewhere long enough and they will hire you?’” Wong asks. “This is how I came to represent Stehleon Vineyards as their wholesale rep and work in the Sans V tasting room.”

There are two wineries that make up the totality of the Sans V Tasting Room: Stehleon Vineyards and Vesper Vineyards. All source from San Diego County vineyards that are, at minimum, sustainably farmed. Al Stehly, owner of Stehleon Vineyards, manages most of them and is in the process of gaining certification for sustainability.

“Wine in San Diego is just getting started,” Wong says, adding that, “We are only beginning to figure out what grows well here and how to make it our own. So, the time is now to be an early adopter and get on the train.  Sans V provides a perfect opportunity to get acquainted with three wineries at one time.”

Visit Sans V Friday through Sunday and by appointment–tours are $20 per person and include a tasting flight, which features wines from all three wineries. For groups, appointments and tours call (760) 741-1246 or email manager@sansv.com. 298 Enterprise Street, Suite D, Escondido, CA 92029
